Brief

We were given the task to design our own personal brand.

I wanted to make sure my brand complemented my style and gave an insight into my personality.

Process

The process began with reliable mind mapping. I brainstormed a number of my interests. I wanted to incorporate my creative style with my personality.

After numerous ideas and concepts I began to look at the idea of fairies. I wanted to somehow combine them with a creative motif for my logo.

I played around with different mediums to try and see what kind of style I would like. I began to use ink a lot. This helped to design my brand.

Solution

The process led me to design a fairy incorporating a quill. I felt this captured my overall vision. A fairy is a symbol of mystery, femininity and delicateness. I loved them when I was growing up, so I thought it was a nice part of my childhood to include.

I decided to add the quill to reinforce creativity. It is in place of the fairy’s feet. This imagery works well in mirroring my creative style whilst also capturing my personality.

I decided to keep my wordmark clean and simple. The thin lines mirror the lines of the fairy. The modern feel helps to make the classic imagery more contemporary.

Lastly, to complete my brand, I created a print to use for stationary, business cards etc.
